April Updates

Primitive Ditty Bag

Offered this month is a very
primitive cross stitch ditty bag measuring
7-1/2" at the widest x 8-1/2" high, the
wool hanger strap adds an additional
17" in height.

I stitched this on heavily aged linen
using conventional cotton threads,
lined it with utility osnaburg fabric and
trimmed the top with reclaimed wool.

It is backed with a reproduction
print cotton.

The strap is also reclaimed wool and
is attached with rusty safety pins at
the top.

Punch Needle Tin Grater

This small vintage grater from years
ago measures 2" wide x 5" high.

I stitched this with Valdani hand
over-dyed threads and mounted it to
an old tin kitchen grater.

A small cotton thread holds
an assortment of old buttons
and a small rusty look key.

 Sweet Garden Pinkeep

Sweet Garden is the theme of this
prim pinkeep measuring 4-3/4" x
6".  I stitched this with over-dyed
threads, snippet filled it and
whipstitched the edge.

Dusky gray rickrack trims one side,
a rusty safety pin is secured
in the upper corner and it is backed
with cotton.

Folk Flowers Punch Needle
Cupboard Hanger

This cupboard hanger measures
4" x 6".  The rusty wire hanger adds
an additional 3" in overall height.
I stitched this with Valdani hand
over-dyed threads and lightly
batt filled it.

A small string of buttons is attached
to the upper corner.  It is backed with
reclaimed wool hand stitched to the
front.

A simple, sweet stitchery.
