Vintage Schoolteacher Bell
Punch Needle Santa
This vintage teacher bell measures 9" x 3-1/4",
the punch needle measures 5-1/4" x 4".
I found this vintage bell at a local antique shop, it has
a wood handle and metal bell that actually rings with the
lead clapper attached in it.
The santa star is an adaptation from With Thy Needle
and Thread and is worked with Valdani hand over-dyed
threads that I aged after stitching.
His face is hand stitched for detail with
pearl cotton.
There is over-dyed cotton slub yarn wound around the
hat brim with an evergreen sprig. A rusty bell is secured
to the top of the hat and other star points.
His mustache is worked in a higher stitch to outline it from
the rest of his beard.

Punch Needle Rudolph Reindeer
Rudolph is an adorable reindeer that measures 5-1/4" x 5"
to the top of his antlers.
He is stitched with Valdani hand over-dyed threads and
backed with a complimentary cotton.
He is batt filled with real twig legs and antlers, a rusty bell
for his little nose and a seed bead for his eye.

legs also allow him to stand proudly on his own.
He has a red wool scarf around his neck to keep warm.

The cross stitch was worked with over-dyed threads
on aged linen. It is edged with over-dyed pom trim.
The inside is lined with heavy paper.
The box with removable lid is a heavy paper mache base
that was covered with over-dyed cotton, sanded and
aged again.

Yuletide Wishes
Yuletide wishes measure 6" x 8" x 1-1/4".
I stitched this on aged linen with over-dyed and
conventional threads.
It is mounted in a wood frame that has been stained,
painted and sanded.

banding and measures 4-1/2" x 8-1/2".
It is stitched with hand over-dyed threads, one thread
over two for an old prim look.
The pinkeep is batt filled and has a rusty pin and bells
in the corners. It is backed with linen.
