August Updates

Punch Needle
Bird 'n Basket Hornbook

Offered this month is a primitive hornbook
measuring
6" x 5" x 1/2".  The stitchery
is worked with Valdani hand over-dyed threads
on weavers cloth and secured to a hand cut
hornbook.

The stitchery is edged with black boucle yarn.
The hornbook is cut from reclaimed wood in a
prim style, based in black paint and sanded.
I wound rusty wire around the top.

Lydia Broome Pinkeep

This is a design by Pineberry Lane and measures
8" x 7-1/2".  It is a quaker style design that
features a potted tulip, peacock and two versions
of Miss Lydia's initials.

I stitched this in one color with conventional cotton
thread one over two for a vintage look.  It is soft batt
filled and has prim overcast stitching around
the edges.

It is backed with cotton.

Bee Skep Cupboard Hanger

This bee skep punch needle cupboard hanger
measures 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  I stitched it with
Valdani hand over-dyed threads on weavers
cloth and hand stitched on a backing of wool.

The cupboard hanger is soft batt filled and

the rusty wire hanger adds an additional
3-1/2" in overall height.
