Primitive Turkey Punch Needle
Offered this month is a primitive turkey hornbook measuring 7-1/2" x 9". The stitchery is a design by The Old Tattered Flag and was worked with Valdani hand over-dyed threads on weaver's cloth. 
The wood hornbook was cut by hand and has a weathered wood finish on the front and back.
I have strung old buttons on rusty wire with a cotton homespun strip on the top.

Give Thanks Framed Stitchery
Reclaimed wood made into a rustic frame offers a primitive accent to the stitchery mounted in it. The frame measures 11-1/4" x 7-1/2" x 3/4". It is thick wood, weathered and worn with just a wash of black and over brush of shadow gray.
The stitchery is a design from Beth Twist and is stitched on linen with Weeks Dye Works over-dyed threads and is heavily aged. The linen is mounted to a backing and the frame back is covered with over-dyed cotton in a olde small leaf pattern. It has screw eyes on the back with hanger wire attached.
Nothing fussy here, just a little of this and that, fashioned into a one of a kind piece.

Crosby The Turkey
This dimensional turkey measures 11-1/2" x 11". Crosby is a design from Soft in the Head and is a mix of osnaburg and muslin that I painted, dry brushed, sanded and buffed.
Crosby has snaps for eyes, grunged cheesecloth for a neck scarf and a scrap on his stovepipe hat. A rusty heart is attached to his neck scarf. He holds dried pine needles and a few feathers in his wing.
There is detail stitching on his tail and wing, he is firmly stuffed.
His little legs and feet are shaped rusty wire, he even has teeny tiny turkey toes.
Crosby is looking for a forever home and is ready to fly away.

Partridge in The Pear Tree Make Do
Partridge in the pear tree is a design by Brenda Gervais and measures 5" x 8". The pear punch needle is worked on weaver's cloth with Valdani hand over-dyed threads. There is a small twig on the top for a stem and wool leaves.
The pear is mounted on a reclaimed clean vintage oil can, a lovely copper finish with an aged patina and a primitive finish.
I have tied a small grunged tag with the words "Partridge In The Pear Tree" at the base of the pear with a strip of homespun and a blackened skeleton key. It is backed with barn red coat weight 100% reclaimed wool.
