April Updates

Chick 'n Rabbit Needle Punch Hornbook

Just in time for spring is a needle punch whale tail hornbook measuring 6-1/2" x 5-1/4"x 5/8".  I stitched this with Valdani hand over-dyed threads.  The stitchery is mounted to reclaimed wood that was hand cut in a primitive fashion.

The needle punch is edged with black boucle and has a string of buttons looped through the top.

Joy - Spring

Joy - Spring is a dimensional cross stitch design by Homespun Elegance that I worked on 14 count oatmeal fiddlers cloth with cotton over-dyed threads.  It measures 6" x 4-3/4" and is embellished with ribbons and a button on the front.

It is backed with cotton fabric that coordinates with the blue threads in the stitchery.

Rabbit 'n Carrots Needle Punch Hornbook

Mr. Rabbit is keeping a close watch on his carrot crop..... patiently waiting for his sweet carrots to grow...

This needle punch hornbook measures 7-1/4" x 6" and is worked with Valdani hand over-dyed threads.  The stitchery is mounted to a reclaimed wood drawer side that was from a vintage desk.
The wood has part of the groove of the tongue and groove joint on the left side, the right side is solid.

It has been painted, sanded and stained.  A loop of buttons and strands of raffia are threaded through the top.

Framed Goods

Your choice of framed stitchery below features Spring and 1820.  Both have a brown paper dust cover on the back with a primitive jute cord attached for hanging.... or just tuck them in a basket or display corner.

Spring measures 8-1/2" x 6-1/2" and is stitched on aged linen with over-dyed threads.  The wood frame has a decorative twist wood trim and is sanded, over brushed and antiqued.

1820 measures 6-1/4" x 4-3/4" and is stitched on aged linen with over-dyed threads.  The wood frame is sanded, over brushed and antiqued.
